My Sheep Hear My Voice... John 10:27

My Sheep Hear My Voice... John 10:27

My sheep hear My voice; I know them, and they follow me.”  John 10:27

I thoroughly enjoyed painting this month’s artwork and meditating on this verse. It has a special place in my heart.  My heart’s desire is for it to encourage & refresh you each time you look at it.  I don’t know if you noticed, but I’ve started asking others what this verse means to them & I just love reading what they write!  I’m touched by what Lynda had to say about John 10:27, and I pray you are as well!  Blessings to you! Pam

Here's what Lynda wrote:

Thoughts about voices run through my mind when I consider our focus verse. I recall the instant recognition I had hearing my newborn son’s cry as he was brought down the corridor of the hospital, the morning after his birth. A smile crosses my face when I remember hearing the sound of my husband's voice after a lengthy military separation.

As a child, it was always fun to watch Rich Little perform on television.  You remember him. He was known as the “Man of a Thousand Voices”. He was incredibly fun to listen to because of the many famous people he could imitate.  But that is exactly what it was - imitation.

A quick search online confirms my thoughts - voices are like fingerprints. No two are exactly alike. Voices may sound similar but not be identical.

My sheep listen to my voice; we must be able to discern His voice. But how do we do that? By being in an authentic relationship with Him.  All healthy relationships start with spending quality time together. He already knows everything about us. We need to learn -Him.

The Word teaches us the characteristics and qualities of God so that we are able to clearly recognize Him. Experts of their field do not study the counterfeits of this world. They spend their time learning all they can about the authentic item – its features and lack of features.

Spend time thinking about the truths you are learning. Even Mary pondered in her heart all that had transpired after being visited by the shepherds from the field. We, also, have to take God’s goodness to a deeper level; flesh out what we know by building layer upon layer of additional scripture to what we are learning. In this way we not only see Him better. We hear Him louder.

Your Encouragement Club items are designed to immerse you and those you encourage with God’s truth. Commit this verse to memory, and incorporate it into your prayers. “Lord, Thank you for being my shepherd, revealing yourself to me so that I may hear and follow You.”
