Mix, Swatch, and Save Your Favorite Colors!

Have you ever mixed the perfect color… only to come back later and realize you have absolutely no idea how you made it?

Yep. We’ve all been there!

That’s why one of my favorite creative habits is keeping track of the colors I mix.

When you’re working with our Harvest Orange color this month, don’t just mix your paint and move on. Take a moment to create a little color swatch and jot down what you used.

You don’t need a fancy formula or exact measurements.

Something as simple as:

“Orange + a little magenta”

or

“Orange + burnt umber”

is enough to give your future self a helpful little reminder.

Create Your Own Harvest Orange Palette

Today, challenge yourself to mix three different versions of Harvest Orange:

🧡 A lighter Harvest Orange — Add a little white or another lighter color to soften your orange.

🧡 A richer, deeper orange — Experiment with a deeper or warmer color to create more depth.

🧡 A muted, earthy orange — Try adding a touch of brown or another neutral to tone it down.

Don't worry about getting the “perfect” color.
