Why I First Started Creating Art Prints

One of my favorite things about our art prints is how EASY they are to frame!  We cut them to standard sizes to make framing easy and affordable for you.

When I first started creating art prints it was out of my own desire and need. I had seen beautiful art prints in our local Christian bookstore, but most were odd sizes requiring a special frame or they were way outside my budget.

How We Get the Perfect 5x7, 8x10, & 11x14 Sizes for You

So when I started doing my own art, I wanted to be sure to make them affordable and easy to frame. Little did I know that I would be adding more work in the creation process to achieve those results! Each 5x7, 8x10 and 11x14 print that we create has to be cut down to achieve that ready to frame print, but I think it’s worth it to be able to provide that service for our customers!

Art Prints are FUN to Frame

Another one of my favorite things about our art prints is how FUN they are to frame. It is fascinating to me to try an art print in different style frames and see how that changes the appearance & personality of the artwork, helping it “adjust” to the different decor styles.

I enjoy experimenting with different color frames as well! It’s always amazing to me to see how putting a print in a white frame can bring out the whites in the design, just like popping it into a yellow frame really makes the yellow in the design stand out.

Helpful Hints for Finding the Right Style & Color Frame

Look at these examples in the photos to see how the personality/style changes depending on the frame. It’s fun to see how the artwork changes personality going from the Copper Metal Frame to the Intricate Blue frame or the Collaged Book paper frame.

Notice also how the color of the frame brings out different attributes of the design. I encourage you to take the print with you when shopping for frames and just do some experimenting for yourself.

You Can Also Use Clip Boards for Display Prints!

I also like to use clip boards to display artwork! It is inexpensive and easy to do. We have used some clip holders for prints and note cards for our Encouragement Kits. Everyone really loved them.

They would be easy to make yourself with just a few supplies needed. Our Little Shareables from the Encouragement Kits are 4x4, another easy to find frame size.

How to Use Multiple Opening Frames for Special Gifts

Double and Triple opening frames are also fun to work with! I like using them as display frames at shows to give our shoppers ideas of how several prints can work together to achieve a themed decor piece!

Wedding, Anniversary, & Baby Gift Ideas

I’ve also taken one of our marriage prints and used it in the central opening and the opening on each side for the bride and groom's photo. These make really great wedding and anniversary gifts! You could use the same idea for a baby gift by putting a print in the center opening and the ultrasound photo on the left side and the baby photo in the right opening. I love themed gifts, so themed framed pieces are right up my alley!

The possibilities are endless! I hope these ideas get your creative juices flowing.  I would love to see pictures of how you’ve framed some of our art prints!

Sincerely,

Pam Cowell | From the Heart Art

Hi Ann, Thank you for your question! I have found beautiful frames at Hobby Lobby, TJ Maxx, Michaels, Tuesday Morning, Ross and even Dollar General! I hope this helps. And don’t forget, you can buy a basic frame and paint it a complimentary color! blessings to you- Pam

Hi Pam, is there a favorite place you get your frames? I never see any like the ones you’ve used as examples. And they’re stunning. Thanks.
