The Transformation of the Butterfly - and Us

The Transformation of the Butterfly - and Us

There may be no better representation of transformation in God’s creation than the journey of the butterfly. It’s incredible how a tiny, unassuming caterpillar can change into a vibrant, fluttering masterpiece, bringing beauty and movement to our yards and gardens.

Have you ever thought of Jesus in the same way?

A baby, born in an unexpected place and time, lived a life destined for the Cross. His time in the tomb—a kind of cocoon—seemed to mark the end. But at the appointed time, He arose, shedding His grave clothes and emerging as the Conqueror of sin and death. Through His resurrection, we too are transformed! What was once dead in us has been made alive in Christ Jesus.

Our key verse this month reminds us not to conform to the world but to be transformed by the renewal of our minds (Romans 12:2). But how do we do that?

Ways to Renew Your Mind and Be Transformed

1. Dive into God’s Word
Scripture is powerful and transformative. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us that God’s Word is useful for teaching, correcting, and training in righteousness so that we may be equipped for the good work He calls us to. The more we immerse ourselves in His truth, the more our minds are renewed.

2. Spend Time in Prayer
Prayer is not just about presenting requests—it’s about aligning our hearts with God’s. It’s a conversation with our Heavenly Father, a place of surrender, guidance, and transformation. The more we seek Him, the more we are changed.

3. Fellowship with Other Believers
We were created for connection. Surrounding ourselves with like-minded and like-hearted believers encourages growth, accountability, and strength in our faith. God often uses others to speak truth into our lives and remind us of His goodness.

Each month we have a new focus verse.   It guides everything we do during that month in our Encouragement Box and our Creative Hearts Studio.  All of the verses we use are powerful, simply because they are God's Word and many have a special meaning to each of us.  This month I wanted you to hear from my assistant, Brandi. She is a special person with a servant's heart.   I was excited when she chose this verse to share her thoughts on.   What does this verse mean to. you? What helps you renew your mind?  I would love to know.

Tips 4 & 5 are a little P.S. from me.   I've experienced life changing results with these simple steps.    I hope you find them helpful.

4.  Write It Down

I often feel like words are going in one ear and out the other.    Writing them down has been a game changer for me!   I use my journal as if it were my catcher's mitt!   Writing it down is like "catching" the Words of Truth with my journal.    Being intentional when I practice my lettering also helps.   I choose verses of the Bible to practice lettering.   It's building my skill of lettering AND it is writing it on my heart and mind.  If you would like to learn how to do this, our Monthly Creative Hearts lessons will teach you how to do this.   We definitely have room for you around our Creative Hearts Studio Table!

5.  Surround yourself with Scripture

Think through your day.   Where could you be intentional and place scripture reminders?   Beside your bathroom sink, over the kitchen sink, by my computer, and even on my bedside table are all places that I spend time consistently .   Those kinds of places are perfect to intentionally place scripture reminders.   This month's theme verse is special!   It is one of the foundational verses for our Monthly Encouragement Club.   We would be honored to help equip you each month with beautiful decorative art + powerful scripture verses to help you BE TRANSFORMED by renewing your mind.    Learn more about our Encouragement Box here

Many Blessings to you friend!   Pam & Brandi
